My Story

When I inherited my oil and gas royalties from my Mother in 2001, I was shocked by the amount of paper work that was required to manage deeds, leases, and royalty data. One day, I looked around and found stacks of files and mineral documents in the office, on the dinning room table, on the kitchen bar -- even the floors were covered with papers. Because I was so unorganized, I could not determine whether I was getting the proper royalty payments from the Oil companies. To be honest, I had no idea what I even owned. I was lost, frustrated, and losing money. Clearly, I needed help!

I began to search the Internet for software to help me get organized. Everything I found was designed to aid the big oil companies and, it was expensive. Meanwhile, my stacks and piles were growing higher.

I approached my partners, all of which have extensive computer backgrounds. We developed a software product that has solved all of my problems. After we developed our first product, “Royalties Data Vault,” the following things happened:

•  I was able to manage all of my mineral documents and today they are organized and stored on my computer.

•  I started running reports and quickly discovered that two oil companies had not sent me a royalty check.

•  When approached by a Landman wanting to lease property, I could locate my documents quickly and speak intelligently.

•  Using a scanner, I can access all of my mineral deeds, leases, and division orders with one click.

•  I backed up all of my critical mineral deeds, leases, and division orders on one CD and placed them in a safety deposit box.

Because the software was more effective than we ever imagined, we decided to market our software to other royalty owners. Today, we are helping other royalty owners successfully manage their records, too.
